CSS

Finally after two long months Season 4 of EAS 1st Division draws to a close, we stand at a respectable second place earning us direct qualification into the EPS, in what was a very close season right upon till the last week of the competition.

For us I think it was a disappointing effort we had an uneasy start due to the season starting immediately after the last one concluded which meant we were rushed into tying up loose ends but once we found our feet we managed to win the games that needed winning, fortunately.

Below is a table of the final standings, the top four teams earn direct promotion into the Pro Series while teams positioned 5th-8th will enter a small relegation tournament with the bottom teams from EPS, the top four teams from the bracket will fill the remaining slots next season.

CS:S Undergoes Massive Update

general website news

CSS

In the past few years Gabe Newell and his workforce have been relatively quiet when it comes to updating CS:S, deciding to concentrate on other title such as Portal, TF2 and L4D.

Although a lot of the community have been crying out for the ever elusive CS2 for years now, they will have to make do with what has been dubbed "an extensive update to Counter-Strike: Source". With rumours recently circulating the net regarding CS:S being ported to the Orange Box engine most people had an idea that Valve were planning something, not many will have thought just how much will be changing in the latest update.

Open Ladder Play-offs

(FINAL) News Header - ENEMYDOWN

CSS

Enemydown are bringing back the CSS Open Ladder Play-offs starting at the end of this month. On the 1st May admins will contact the top 16 teams in the ladder to check their availability for a one night single elimination cup on Sunday 9th May. If any teams cannot make it then they will contact the 17th team and so on until they have 16 who can play.

There are no minimum number of ladder matches to play as the ladder has been reset, making it easier to break into (and drop out of) the top 16 than it did before, teams will be seeded based on their ladder ranking

This will be a monthly event, admins will contact the top 16 teams on the 1st of each subsequent month and the cups will take place on the next coming Sunday or the one after if it's too short notice.

As things currently stand we would qualify for this sitting 10th on the ladder, despite the recent need for recruitment I am sure we could muster up a team scouting honorary and backup members if needs be.

KGL Season 8 (1st Division)

Statement from theKGL.com:
"This is my pick of the fixtures. Unfortunately Influxum are unable to play 10pm so this couldn't be shoutcasted. Nevertheless this should be a great game and good test for Influxum to see if they can really battle it out with the "big boys" of CSS. I noted last week that they are in fact a very good team and have the results to show this, but this may well be their toughest test to date and it'll be interesting to see how they do.

bba like 5Q had to reschedule and so haven't started their season yet. With a Strike match being played before Inferno, it isn't ideal preparation for them but they have enough experienced players in their line-up to contend with this and there shouldn't be any detrimental effects. Still favorites for the season, it'll be interesting to see whether they live up to their tag."

Season 8 is finally upon us taking its usual slot of Sundays at 9pm. There will be shoutcasting for select games each week provided by GBR MCrossy on behalf of lvl^ TV, in addition to this the 'clips of the week' feature will return along with weekly previews and interviews.

Having won last season in Division 2 without dropping a game we are looking forward to promotion this year, hopefully carrying on the same flawless form. The prizes remain the same, each division winner will win a game server courteous of RTL.
